What information do I need for the assessment?
Certain fertility, hormone and other test results, as well as recent basal body temperature charts, may allow you to complete the assessment in more detail, but are not required. You may also be able to answer certain questions more accurately if you have a mirror at hand.
How much time will the assessment take?
Please set aside a block of 45-60 minutes to complete the assessment. We ask a wide variety of questions across a broad range of topics in order to provide you with truly personalized results.
I’ve got PCOS. How does that affect my results?
Research has shown that the primary method of treating PCOS should be diet, so you have come to the right place! PowerFoods makes it easy – and delicious – to eat in a way that supports fertile health, helps with weight control, and keeps your glycemic load in check.
I’ve got endometriosis. How does that affect my results?
Eating an anti-inflammatory diet is a good place to start, but for many women, that does not go far enough. PowerFoods will help you understand if eggs, meat, tofu and other specific foods are right for you.
I’m over 40. Does that matter?
Yes, it does – but not only because you may have a diminished ovarian reserve. Women over 40 have other age-related needs that are easily met by specific dietary changes that support you in this stage of your life. PowerFoods will get you on the right track – for pregnancy and beyond!
What about advice for vegetarians and vegans?
Our experience shows that vegetarian and vegan women are generally health conscious, but not always aware that the dietary choices they make may not be fertility-friendly, even if they are “healthy” and good for the environment. Often, a few, simple changes, maintained over the course of three to six months, make all the difference.
What is a coaching session?
Coaching sessions provide support for you make – and stick to – the dietary changes that your PowerFoods results may suggest. Initially, some women find that suggestions made in their personal PowerFoods results seem challenging to follow. Our coaching is designed to help make the shift to a new way of eating as easy as possible.
Which plan is right for me?
Women who are comfortable cooking and who already eat a wide range of cuisines tend to do well with the Basics plan. If you’re not a big cook, or if your dietary habits tend to follow the same few routines, you may want to start with one of the plans with coaching and recipes for more comprehensive support and guidance from the PowerFoods team.
